The first installment of former Okay City member Maka’s ‘The Lost Tapes,’ a concept collaboration with Vancouver based producer & director Johnny Erwin, is a homage to 90’s nostalgia at its best. The song itself has a 90’s, grimey, boom bap vibe to it and the video treatment takes this style further as it visually mimics watching a film on an old, junky VCR with the tracking jumping around more than a House of Pain video.
True Rudeology is the first single off Maka’s forthcoming ‘Rude man LP,’ which from the looks of this one promises to be a great record. Check out the video after the jump and be sure to keep a look out for the second installment of the lost tapes from Maka & Johnny Erwin and ‘The Rude Man Lp.’
