Another successful KOTD event went down at Fortune Sound without a hitch. Aside from Laugh’n’Stalk not making it over the border, every match up went amazingly well. Every battle was of a high quality and there were no stumbles or chokes. The founder and CEO of KOTD, Organik, was there with his whole crew from Toronto to watch the Ground Zero title match between Champion DDSS and Challenger Po Rich. The atmosphere was light both inside and outside the venue, despite winners and losers being decided, everyone was genuinely enjoying themselves. Scott Jackson ripped it up with some beatboxing after the title match, people were breakdancing, cyphers were starting up, it was a very hiphop atmosphere despite the relatively small crowd.
Blasphem E’s wordplay lost out to Apos’ aggressive performance. Cody edged Lex D with a lot of support from the crowd. Pigsty pit his style against Ayem’s and came out with a W. Sketch and Uno put on a show that will not be soon forgotten, both came with their best effort and had the battle of the night. DDSS’s performance was unlike anything I’ve ever seen, he convincingly defended his chain against a very worthy opponent in Po Rich. Check out the shots from the event below!
