Tuesday January, 28 – “This is my time, this is my hour…” rapped Terrance Thorton as he graced the stage of a sold out Venue night club on Tuesday night. Taking pointers from Kanye, Pusha came out in an Alexander Wang fur jacket and Ballenciaga shoes. Pusha has come a long way. This past year, Pusha released a full length LP which garnered attention from critics and rappers alike, including himself. “My album is the best album of 2013!” proclaimed Pusha, during the middle of his set. But who can blame him? With production from Yeezy and co-signs from every major music blog, Push has good reason to gloat. Playing hits like, his most famous collaboration ‘Runaway‘ and G.O.O.D. music’s most famous hit ‘Mercy’, Pusha did not forget his roots. “I feel like I was getting too commericial. The ‘Mercy’. The ‘Runaway’ shit. The G.O.O.D. music. All my love for them, but, where are all the Pusha T fans at? The street music?” segued into My God, a song from 2011 mixtape ‘Fear Of God’.

2Going through songs ‘Pain’, ‘Nostalgia’ and ‘Sweet Serenade’ from ‘My Name is My Name’ with great intensity, Pusha paused. The crowd became quiet. Pusha looked up and started rapping’Numbers On the Board’, unquestionably the angriest song on the record. The crowd is loving every minute and rapping along to every word. As soon as the song ended, he dropped the mic.

Because of the late set time, the crowd almost starts to descend but the DJ reassures as to “keep it going!” Push comes back on stage, to do a rendition of ’40 Acres’, a song off his latest album, a collaboration with The Dream (Dream wasn’t present, but there was a back up singer with an impeccable voice). And of course, a Pusha T show isn’t a Pusha T show without a Clipse song. The show ended with the classic track ‘Grindin’ ‘. The sell out crowd on a Tuesday Night is a testament to Pusha’s popularity.

Big shouts to Blueprint & Regime for another great show!
