Friday night at the Studio on Granville Street, Noise celebrated their album release with Garrett Grhymes, Neyvone and Beautiful Disaster.
Neyvone has a very polished set for a 20 year old. It had great production and energy, keeping the crowd engaged from start to finish. You can easily imagine him having success rocking the big stage with his physicality and expressiveness.
Grhymes had a more relaxed approach. He relied more on his harmony and singing than rapping. There was a brief moment of technical difficulty but he and his DJ ‘Boy Nerd’ improvised with some live beatboxing. It was a deft move and kept everyone entertained.
Beautiful Disaster’s front man Brandon Hart thundered his way on stage and immediately owned everyone’s attention. His stage presence and commanding vocals amplified by the live drums and guitar were intimidating at the beginning. By the end of their set they had the whole audience waving their arms to the melodies of their expert songcraft.
The final act of the evening was dominated by the two emcees of Noise, John and Junyor. They began softly and picked up more energy through the set. Attracting the largest crowd that night they kept everyone jumping with their high octane double time style and bouncing choruses.
Slowing it down halfway through for a somber tribute to a friend who passed. Noise finished the evening on a high note after impressing fans with their strongest material in a well deserved encore.
