Devin The Dude performed at Fortune Sound Club last Fri., Jan. 31st as his ‘One For The Road Tour‘ hit Vancouver. The buzz and anticipation for this show was turnt up and Fortune easily sold the venue out hours before doors were open. Earlier in the day we had the pleasure of kicking it with Devin and filming an interview with him at RedMED Dispensary with owner, Red-1 from the Rascalz. Then we moved locations and filmed the 2nd part of our interview at the Cannabis Culture Cafe just around the corner on Hastings St.. interview is currently being edited and will be out soon.
Matt Pidutti (PudsBrand) took care of filming duties for us and he also got some really great pictures of Devin’s live performance. The Dude came out to a packed house of hip hop stoners all eagerly awaiting his presence so they could light up their pre-rolled doobies and get down to business. Devin came out blazing as he stepped on stage with a big fatty lit and a cloud of reefer smoke above his dome. He satisfied the Van City crowd by running through favorite cuts like “Lacville 79, Do What You Wanna Do, Doobie Ashtray, See What I Can Pull, Sticky Green, What A Job, Boo Booin’, F*ck You” and many more and also did new joints like “I’m Getting Blowed” and “Probably Should Have” off his new album ‘One For The Road’. He ended his show with class and style by performing “Anything” and leaving the house on a positive, sentimental note. Devin The Dude is a classy character who is a seasoned veteran in the hip hop game. And the guy can smoke and smoke until his hearts content and still perform without missing a beat too.. (I’m talking dabs, bowls, blunts etc.. He was puffin’ on it all!). I had a blast at his show and really enjoyed hanging out with him beforehand and chopping it up.
