Listen to MOVE ON –
Francis Arevalo:
Desirée Dawson
BIO:
Francis Arevalo & Desirée Dawson come together for the first time as creatives with their collaboration “Move On”. The song was created from the energy of being bogged down by the heaviness and confusion of the trials and tribulations that life tosses our way, all while remembering the strength and power of ancestral lineage and community. It is all about persevering and remembering to just keep on going. It touches on the unseen and seen forces that motivate us as humans and push us forward. Desirée Dawson is a singer-songwriter and Francis Arevalo is a rapper-producer who both make music with the intention to heal, inspire and bring people together.

LYRICS:
VERSE 1
[Francis)]
When my names at the gates, and I’m dying I’
m telling the angels that I didn’t waste my fire
‘Cause I wasn’t waiting through my days to aspire
To join ‘em in the sky, ‘cause I came to inspire (oooooh)
I wanna feel higher (against the evils we’re fighting)
With people i admire (create dreams that we’re writing)
Back when singing choruses was singing quiet in the choir
Now, these songs are some prayers that I offer on high up
[Desirée]
Is my voice too loud?
Are my dreams too quiet?
I’ve got a lot to give
Sometimes it’s hiding
And these forces here Leave me so inspired
They sing fan the flames
And keep up the fire
PRE-CHORUS:
What do we do
Now that we’re here?
What do we do (What do we do)
Now that we’re here?
CHORUS:
Move on (The journey is long…we gotta…)
Move on (The journey is long…we gotta…)
Move on (The journey is long…we gotta…)
Move On
VERSE 2:
[Francis]
This ain’t a song about love, no, it’s a song about life
All of the art and heartful insight that we harbour inside
A little talkin’ ‘bout your arms and the harm in our minds
The trauma that’s keeping us guarded and apart in our lives
Honour every scar we wear as armour walking through life
While we sharpen our knives, we evolve through the strife
Why get involved if it’s always ending disheartening, right?
We’re trying to see if hearts work properly after the plight
Now we’re realizing that we’re are all that we need
Our love starts here first, in the bodies we breathe
This living don’t need to be lonely, if only we’d see
To love ourselves first is the key to be free
[Desirée]
You sat me down
Showed me what is real
Said take up all the space baby
Express how you feel
Your ship may be sinking
Remember to steer
However you show up
That light inside glows up
We’re glad that you’re here
PRE-CHORUS:
What will you do
Now that you’re here?
What will you do (What will we do)
Now that you’re here? (Now that you’re here?)
What will you do
Now that you’re here?
What will you do (What will we do)
Now that you’re here?
CHORUS
The journey is long
We gotta move on, we gotta move on
The journey is long
We gotta move on
